Pedals2People/REI Event!!!
Saturday May 19th from 9:00AM – 3:00PM Pedals2People will be collecting used, unwanted bicycles in good condition for recycling, reuse and reintroduction to the wild. In exchange for your donation REI has generously agreed to provide a coupon good for 20% off one REI or Novara brand item (excluding bicycles).
They are looking for some volunteers to come down and help with the table they'll have set up and, possibly, the transporting of donated bikes. What a great opportunity for P2P and those receiving REI coupons. If you could help please contact Paula Sutherlin at psvoyagers@gmail.com or Laurel (P2P volunteer coordinator) directly at pedals2people.vc@gmail.com They are still in need of volunteers with no special talent required for this event. They need folks to accept bikes, hand out discount coupons, give receipts if they want, talk to people about P2P, add them to their contact list if they want, and to haul bikes from REI to the P2P shop.

Bike Corral Success - Sally, our faithful organizer,  reported that there were 255 bikes corralled this year. That is about 50 more bikes over last year that the club “baby sat” during Bloomsday. The runners/walkers are most appreciative for this service the club offers. Those helping out were: Barb Roemmich and friend Jim  Czirr, Barb Kehr, Warren Walker, Charlie Greenwood, Lynn Hostetter, Jennifer Calvert, Jon Rascoff, Bob Massie, Jamie and Paula Sutherlin, Sharlene Lundal, Don Carlton and Sally Phillips.

Washington's Olympic Discovery Trail stretches 126 miles across the northern edge of the peninsula, from Port Townsend in the east to La Push on the Pacific Ocean. The trail itself is a work in progress, with large gaps that must be bridged by on-street riding. But the scenic splendors of this area, together with its compelling stories (both fictional and historical), make this path unusually noteworthy.

Garry Kehr is coordinating the SBC Multi-day rides. He has prepared four documents describing this year's rides:
