SBC Cross Washington Tour - 2024

The Spokane Bicycle Club (SBC) is offering a 6-day Cross Washington Tour in June 2024 with an emphasis on adventure, safety, comfort, and affordability.

The route will start in Monroe, WA. and end in Spokane, WA. with stops in Skykomish, Leavenworth, Quincy, Coulee City, and Wilbur.

Each rider must be capable of cycling 50+ miles per day on multiple days.

The route will focus on safe routes maximizing low traffic Farm to Market Roads or, as necessary, higher volume roads with wide shoulders. (Link to RWGPS Maps)

The tour will include luggage transport and limited sag support to designated locations (camping and motel) each day.

All rides are on hard surfaced roads; road bikes are appropriate. E-bikes are welcome.

  • ·         The itinerary is as follows: Monday, June 17 is a travel day from Spokane to Monroe, WA. June 18 (Tuesday) through June 23rd (Sunday) are ride days, ending in Spokane, WA.
  • ·         Total mileage is approximately 300 miles. The daily miles will be in the 50-mile range (average for the six days).
  • ·         SBC will endeavor to keep the total cost per rider in the range of 1/2 the cost of a comparable commercial tour.
  • ·         The registration fee is $85/person until May 15th, 2024 early registration, $100/person May 16- June 1, 2024 late registration. All riders must be registered and paid by June 1. Registration will cover the cost of rider support, including food at rest stops, SAG, and luggage transport day to day during the ride.
  •        We will cancel and refund the ride with fewer then 25 total registrants.
  • ·         Registration may be canceled for a full refund until June 1st. After that, the registration fee is not refundable.
  • ·         All riders must be 21 years of age or older.
  • ·         All riders must sign a ride waiver.
  •        All riders must provide emergency contact information.
  • ·         SBC is arranging a charter bus for transport of riders, luggage, and bikes from Spokane to the start in Monroe, WA. at each rider's expense, you will prepay at registration.
  • ·         Riders taking bus are responsible for boxing their own bike prior to arrival to bus meetup. PLEASE LABEL YOUR BIKE BOX WITH YOUR NAME & PHONE NUMBER. (Link to How to Box a Bike) (Link to Bike Shops for Box)
  •        Riders are responsible for assembling their own bike before the ride when we reach Monroe.
  • ·         Each day will have an option for camping or motel. It is recommended that riders make reservations as early as possible as the lodging options are limited and busy. Please click the links below for more information.
  • ·         Each rider is responsible for the cost for lodging (or camping), meals, and transportation to the start (SBC is offering a charter bus that the rider must pay separately for a ride to the start).
  •        Skykomish will offer group meals for dinner $23 and hot breakfast $19 that will need to be prepaid. You can prepay at registration.
  • ·         SBC will provide at least one food/ rest stop each ride day, 2 stops on longer days. (locations will be noted on the RWGPS routes)
  • ·         Air quality and weather cancellation policy
  • ·         Riders are responsible for their own transportation back to Spokane if they decide to abort the tour before finishing.
